“Thank you RR” is a tribute to Robert Rauschenberg, abstract expressionist and Neo-Dada American artist. The three paintings-collages are inspired by his work.
As Rauschenberg adopted in his art “whatever was at hand” here are also used some ordinary objects and ink-jet pigment transfers of my own photographs on acrylic medium.
The apparent randomness of the selection of elements, including color and marks, contributes to the expression of feelings and emotions.
The titles of the works help in their interpretation. They are in order:
– Desperados,
– Jailhouse Rock,
– Drive-In Theater
All works are on 72 x 53 cm plywood.
